What is temporary email?
Temporary email is a disposable address you can create instantly without registering. Use it briefly to receive a confirmation link or verification code without sharing your personal email address.
Many websites ask for an email before you can download a file, try a service, or read an article. Giving out your main address each time can bring unwanted marketing and expose it if a site has a data breach. A temporary address keeps those one-time interactions separate from your personal inbox.
How to use it
- Your email address is created automatically when this page opens. No sign-up or forms.
- Copy the address and paste it into a registration or download form that accepts temporary email.
- Return to this page. Incoming messages appear automatically without refreshing.
- Open a message to read its verification code or confirmation link. When you are done, you can close the page.
When to use a temporary address
Temporary email works best for one-time, low-stakes tasks: trying a service where permitted, downloading an e-book, joining a forum briefly, or previewing a newsletter.
Use a permanent address for accounts you intend to keep. Banking, government services, medical records, your main social accounts, and work email need reliable long-term access. Once a temporary inbox expires, you cannot use it to reset a password. Keep your browser session private and do not send confidential information to a disposable inbox.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free? Do I need an account?
PoofMail is free to use. No account or password is needed. Your address is created automatically when the page opens.
How long does an address last?
An inbox starts with one hour. While it is active, Add 1 hour resets its remaining time to one hour, up to three times. The same inbox is remembered in this browser when you refresh. New address creates a different inbox. Delete inbox removes the current one; clearing browser data only removes your local access.
Can I send email?
No. PoofMail only receives incoming messages. You cannot send mail or replies from a temporary inbox.
Why do some websites reject this address?
Some websites block disposable email domains because they need a permanent way to contact you or prevent abuse. Respect their requirements and use a permanent address or an accepted email alias instead.
