About Poofmail

Poofmail is a free tool for generating temporary, disposable email addresses. Anyone can create an inbox in one click, use it wherever a website asks for an email address, and let it expire without ever touching a personal or work inbox.

Why use a disposable email address?

Most websites require an email address before letting you download a file, read an article, claim a trial, or comment on a page. Handing over a real address every time means more marketing email, more risk of that address ending up in a data breach, and more spam over time. A disposable address solves this: it exists just long enough to receive a confirmation link or a one-time code, then it can be thrown away.

How Poofmail works

When you load the site, we generate a random email address on a shared domain and open an inbox for it automatically — no signup, no password to remember. Any email sent to that address appears in the inbox on this page within a few seconds. Clicking “New Address” discards the current inbox and starts a fresh one.

What Poofmail is not for

Disposable addresses are meant for low-stakes, temporary use: trials, newsletters you want to preview, forums, or one-off downloads. They are not meant for anything tied to your identity or finances. Do not use a disposable address for banking, government services, medical records, or any account you plan to keep. Messages are not private or permanent — assume anyone with the address could read what is sent to it, and that messages disappear once the inbox expires.
